Springwood Pharmacy Recognized

Springwoods Pharmacy was recognized as the “Top Pharmacy Site of 2016, Specialty Division” by Comprehensive Pharmacy Services at the ASHP mid-year meeting in Las Vegas, Nev. Janelle Douglas, Pharm.D was awarded the distinction due to showing an interest in continuum of patient care and the initiative of beginning a pharmacist-led medication management group session in the outpatient setting.

Jacquelyn Lange-Halley, M.D., Joins Springwoods Behavioral Health

Dr. Lange comes to Springwoods after completing her residency in Psychiatry at UAMS. She received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, IL, where she graduated with High Honors. She then graduated medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Lange completed residency in General Psychiatry at UAMS, focusing in the Community Based Psychiatry Track in NW Arkansas.


Keith Berner, MD, Joins Springwoods Behavioral Health

BernerKeith Berner, MD, a psychiatrist who specializes in addiction psychiatry recently joined the medical staff of Springwoods Behavioral Health.

“We are excited to have Dr. Berner join our medical staff”, Mark Bethell, CEO of Springwoods Behavioral Health said. He brings expertise and clinical skills that will enhance our ability to serve the increasing needs for behavioral health in our region.”

Dr. Berner comes to Springwoods after working as a psychiatrist at the Northwest Medical Center Behavior unit in Springdale, AR. He received a B.A. in biology from Hendrix College where he graduated magna com laude, and then graduated from medical school at UAMS. Dr. Berner completed residency in Psychiatry at the University of Vermont and did a fellow in addiction psychiatry at New York University and Bellevue Hospital in New York City.



Springwoods Behavioral Health Opens New Center for Women

In April 2014, Springwoods opened the only program exclusively for women in Arkansas. The Center for Women provides a safe and nurturing environment where women of all ages offer each other hope and support as they move through life stages.

Treatment is comprehensive and individualized with a focus on crisis stabilization and coping skills. The goal is to help patients develop health lifestyle patterns, identify and begin to heal the emotional issues that trigger symptoms and develop the coping skills needed to prevent relapse.

This is a specialty program designed to meet the unique needs of women including:

  • Depressive disorders related to women’s issues
  • Anxiety and obsessive disorders
  • Relationship issues
  • Anger management
  • Grief and loss
  • Trauma and crisis
