Center for Women

The Center for Women at Springwoods Behavioral Health provides a safe and nurturing community where women of all ages offer each other hope and support as they move through life stages. Treatment is comprehensive and individualized with a focus on crisis stabilization and coping skills. The goal is to help patients develop healthy lifestyle patterns, identify and begin to heal the emotional issues that trigger symptoms and develop the coping skills needed to prevent relapse.

Program Overview

The Center for Women is a specialty program designed to meet the unique needs of women including:

  • Depressive disorders related to women’s issues
  • Anxiety and obsessive disorders
  • Relationship issues
  • Eating disorders not requiring medical hospitalization

The Center for Women’s treatment team utilizes evidence-based therapies:

  • Trauma and crisis
  • Grief and loss
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Life Skills
  • Self-image
  • Diagnosis and medication education as they relate to women
  • Relationship and healthy boundaries
  • Coping skills
  • Anger management
  • Relapse prevention, medication compliance
  • Access to chemical dependency groups
  • Scheduled visitation hours (special times may be arranged for children under 12)

Services offered include:

  • A full continuum of mental health services exclusively for women
  • A professional team of psychiatrists, APRNs, master’s level therapist, physicians and 24/7 nursing care
  • Development of a collaborative interdisciplinary treatment plan
  • Specialized women-only groups
  • Integration, education and coordination with the primary care providers and referring agency
  • Active individualized discharge planning
  • A group focused therapeutic process that uses Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Solution Focused Modalities
  • Daily relaxation and recreational activities catered to women

Patient/Visitor Information

Incoming calls for the Women’s Center are daily, 5:30 p.m. – 6:15 p.m. Visiting hours are held:

  • Tuesday & Saturday: 6:15 p.m. – 7:15 p.m.

** No incoming calls are allowed in between Adult/Women patient phone call times, no exceptions***

Assessments and Referrals

Springwoods Behavioral Health accepts referrals from the professional community (doctors, hospitals, therapists, social workers, nurses, schools, courts and community agencies) as well as from families.

Qualified assessment and referral staff perform assessments 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, at no charge. Each assessment is evaluated by a physician who recommends the appropriate level of care for treatment. Recommendations are then discussed with the patient/family to assist in making an informed decision about treatment.

Springwoods Behavioral Health is a provider for most insurance/managed care plans, as well as Medicare.
